School Transport Arrangements

Pupils from the North Yorkshire Local Authority Area Information may be found on www.nyschoolbus.info and parents/carers may contact North Yorkshire County Council Education Office in Harrogate on 01609 533693, e-mail schooltransport@northyorks.gov.uk regarding eligibility for assistance with transport costs. Information regarding the services available and replacement bus passes may be obtained from Integrated Passenger Transport at County Hall in Northallerton on 01609 780780, e-mail schooltransport.services@northyorks.gov.uk.
From September 2016, transport has not be available from NYCC, with the following exceptions:
where the home address is over the statutory walking distance of 3 miles, but is nearer to a denominational school than their catchment school. The pupil is in receipt of free school meals or their parents are on the maximum level of working tax credit and the school is between 2 and 15 miles away and is their nearest denominational school. It is no longer be possible to purchase NYCC paid for passes for Arriva services, but in 2016/2017
parents/carers have been able to purchase monthly passes for £39.00 or annual passes for £390.00, or pay £50 monthly or £500.00 annually to include weekend and evening use, from Arriva Yorkshire, Cowie Drive,
Selby, YO8 8BG. Further details, including direct debit details are available from Arriva:

Arriva Travel Concession Passes can also be purchased; there is a charge of £5 but this will entitle the pupil to a half price fare. Application forms are available from the School Office. At the time of going to print, the full adult cost of a day return ticket from Selby to Carlton is £5.50, but £2.75 with the Arriva concessionary travel pass. A return ticket is £5.30 for adults and £2.65 for children. A single ticket is £3.10 for adults and £1.55 for children. Pupils may need to show the Arriva concessionary pass to be entitled to a child’s fare.
