Welcome to the Holy Family School

To Increase in wisdom and grace

Supportive and caring

Welcome

Welcome, I am delighted to be writing to you as the newly appointed Acting Head teacher of Holy Family Catholic High School. It is a privilege to take up this position after serving the school for three years as the Deputy Head teacher. Mr Michael Fallon has been appointed as Acting Deputy Head teacher and he joins us from St John Fisher in Dewsbury.

This is an exciting time to take on such a role, as I strongly believe that Holy Family continues to be a truly excellent school. Our pastoral care is regarded as exemplary and once again this summer our academic achievements have continued to go from strength to strength. Holy Family is a place where staff are proud to work, a place which Governors and parents are proud to support and a school to which students are proud to belong.

Holy Family Catholic High School, is a school with a distinct ethos centred upon the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. The dignity of each person is at the heart of Catholic teaching; every student has his or her own individual strengths, gifts and talents; our aim is to ensure that these are all developed to their full potential.

We look for excellence in all aspects of learning and we expect high standards of achievement from all members of the community. We lead and innovate to make learning fun, challenging and distinctive. The relationships between teachers, students and parents are fundamental to the success of the school. Working together, we ensure that students enjoy their time at Holy Family, make outstanding progress and leave us as responsible, well-qualified, mature young people; ready to make a valued contribution to society.

We are looking to present a window into the life of the school, an opportunity to share information and to celebrate our students and their successes and as such I hope that you find the content of our website useful.

Our Open Evening is on Thu 24th September from 6pm onwards and if you are a prospective parent, we would like to invite you to visit our school on that evening. We do feel that our pupils are our real strength and if you would like to witness a working day at Holy Family please contact Mrs J Lemm who will be happy to arrange this for you.

I would like to thank you for your interest in our school and I look forward to the possibility of working together in the future.

All girls played extremely well in the tournament last night with 4 visiting teams. A particular well done to the B team on their first outing.

The A team were unbeaten until the last game going down 2-1. There was strong leadership and control of the centre court by Courtney and good defence by Evie. Sadly we were missing Ellie Deeks, who had County training.

The B team pushed all the teams really hard with a strong performance from Sarah P- her first game ever!

GCSE Results 2015

This summer’s outstanding results have set new records for Holy Family Catholic High School. The students have raised the bar even further, placing us well above national averages for all key performance indicators. The pupils in this particular year group were outstanding throughout their time at Holy Family, contributing massively to all aspects of school life and they richly deserve these exceptional results.

Both the pupils and their teachers were delighted with their performance and the students are now looking forward to successful futures in post-16 education. All school staff would like to offer their sincerest congratulations to the students and their families. This outstanding success can be attributed to the unique partnership which Holy Family develops between staff, students and their parents. The staff also deserve profound thanks and congratulations for their contribution; they go out of their way to help their students, always willing to go that extra mile.
