Enhanced Mainstream School
Holy Family is an Enhanced Mainstream School (EMS) in terms of provision for pupils with high levels of need in relation to Autism. The aim of the EMS is to enables higher levels of specialist support to be available and better opportunities for children and young people with SEN to be educated with, and alongside, their mainstream peers
In order to meet the needs of these pupils, the school has a Teacher in Charge (Alison Grant), and two Advanced Teaching Assistants (Julia Hobson and Emma Sowersby), specialising in Autism.
Provision can vary from additional support in lessons to a personalised timetable.
In addition to supporting students on our role, we can also be asked to provide outreach advice and support to local schools, and also work alongside ASCOS.
