Frequently Asked Questions
The school office is manned from 8.15am to 4.15pm and the staff will be pleased to help.
Contact Details and Medical Information
Important medical information and contact details are held for each pupil. Please remember to inform the school office should any details change. The mobile telephone numbers of parents/carers are used to convey messages via Group Call; the message is sent to the number given as first priority. The system may be used to send messages regarding school closures in the event of bad weather, the cancellation of trips or sporting events and transport information, for instance.
Assistance
If your child experiences any difficulties in school or on school transport, please contact the school office and we will help where we can, or notify a relevant member of staff.
Absence
If your child is ill enough to stay away from school, please contact the school office by 9.30am on day one. A note should also be sent to the form tutor on your child’s return to school.
Late Arrivals/Early Leaving
Pupils should arrive by 8.50am but if they arrive late, they should sign the late book at the office window. Pupils leaving school early for a medical appointment must have a letter or appointment card to show the teacher and office staff. They should also sign out in the Early Leavers’ Book.
Illness at School
If your child feels ill at school, please ask them not to phone home themselves, but to report to the school office. A member of staff will help and phone home if necessary. Permission should be obtained from the teacher first if it is lesson time.
Dinner and Bus Fares Money
The Office Staff may be able to loan small amounts to pupils who have forgotten money, but this must be returned at the start of the next school day.
Trip/Doncaster Bus Payments
If you are sending in payments for school trips, or pay Doncaster bus fares, please send your payment in a sealed envelope, stating what the payment is for and your child’s name. To avoid payments being lost, please ask your child to hand payments to a member of the office staff, as soon as they arrive at school, or to their form tutor at morning registration.
Lost Property
If your child loses an item, please ask them to look for it themselves, concentrating first on areas they have been recently and asking teachers if it is in their classrooms. If pupils are unable to find the missing item, they should then consult the office staff who may be able to help. If items are clearly named, we are able to return lost items much more easily, so please check from time to time that all clothing, books and equipment are still clearly named.
If we are able to help with any other school matters, please feel free to contact us.
