Enhanced Mainstream School
Holy Family is an Enhanced Mainstream School (EMS) in terms of provision for pupils with high levels of need in relation to Autism.
The aim of the Enhanced Mainstream School (EMS), is to provide high levels of specialist support for our young people with Autism, in order for them to develop into independent and confident young adults. In addition we aim to increase social and academic opportunities for these young people, allowing them to work successfully with their peers and the adults around them.
In order to successfully meet the needs of these young people, the school has a Teacher in Charge (Alison Grant), and two Advanced Teaching Assistants (Julia Hobson and Emma Sowersby), specialising in Autism.
Provision can vary from additional support in lessons, support and structure during breaks and lunchtimes, to a very personalised timetable.
In addition to supporting students on our role, we can also provide outreach advice and support to local schools.
