BTEC First Certificate in Creative Media Production
This qualification will give students the knowledge, understanding and competency needed when considering entering employment in the media industry. Students will have the opportunity to develop the fundamental skills underlying all media production. The structure of the course will allow students to develop their existing interests in different sectors of the media, as well as being introduced to new areas such as advertisement production, print production and photography techniques.

What will the course cover?
The course covers different practical skills related to the media as well as giving you some theoretical background. You will undertake practical units in print and graphics, alongside core theory units as well as learning how to target specific audiences and carry out research into the making of a media product.

• Research for Creative Media Production
• Communication Techniques for Creative Media Production
• Print Production
 Advertising Production


Assessment at the end of the course.
Assessment is assignment based. Students may be asked to produce written reports, presentations, complete group work or case studies. They will produce media products such as film posters, print based advertisements or moving image advertisements with accompanying paperwork.

The achievement of the BTEC First Certificate is equivalent to achieving 2 GCSEs at A* - C.
