“Standards of attainment are above average and rising” Ofsted.
At Holy Family School the results the students achieve have increased year on year. At Key Stage three, our English, Mathematics and Science results put us in the top 5% of schools nationally. At Key Stage four our results again have increased year on year. Our 2010 GCSE cohort made more progress than any other previous group of students. We are aiming for even higher performance in the years to come. We are never complacent and are always looking for ways to improve further.
We are particularly proud of our “Value Added” score. This is a good measure of a schools performance. It looks at the performance the students achieve at the end of KS2 (when they arrive at the school) and compares it to what they should achieve in their GCSEs. Our value added score is positive, and is getting better year on year. The value added score is hard, statistical evidence, verified by the DCSF, that our students make good progress. Another indicator, by which schools are measured, is the percentage of students achieving five good grades at GCSE which include Mathematics and English.
This year’s results evidence that the percentage of students leaving with Mathematics and English GCSE is higher than other schools nationally and also higher than the North Yorkshire average.
