Students are encouraged to participate. Activities are on offer at lunchtimes and after school.

 

 

The school has teams for all major sports and offers many additional sporting opportunities. Clubs include reading, chess and computing. There are opportunities for music and drama. GCSE Statistics is run for Yr 10 and Yr 11 students as an after school activity as is GSCE Multi-Media.

 

                                     

 

Revision classes are available in all subjects for students in Year 11.
A number of school visits, both at home and abroad, have been offered over the years.

 

In 2006-7:

-          Yr 7 went on a day's retreat and on a residential to East Barnby sampling outdoor activities.

 

-          Year 8 enjoyed a residential in Osmotherley.

 

-          Students in Year 10 went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes and students in Years 9 and 10 went to Disneyland, Paris.

 

-          Other trips included: Geography Fieldwork; Poetry Live; Theatre Visits; Science Activities; Army Trips; Enterprise Activities; and visits to Colleges/Universities.  Many subjects incorporated off site visits into their curriculum.

 

Students take part in charity and fund-raising activities and raised over two thousand pounds in the last year for a variety of charities.

The house system to which all students belong offers opportunities for many inter form and inter house activities.
