SCHOOL DRESS CODE

 

All Pupils Years 7 – 11

 

Navy school blazer with badge and tie: compulsory.

Grey pullover/cardigan (optional).White shirt or blouse (no polo shirts).

Black/dark grey trousers (no denim, leather, jeans, corduroy or chinos are allowed)

or black/dark grey skirt, of a sensible length – neither too long nor too short.  Capri trousers, or any kind of short trousers, are not acceptable.

Sensible brown/black shoes; please limit the size of heels to a maximum of 2 inches. Trainers or boots must not be worn in school.

Year 11

 

A black sweater with the school badge may be worn as an alternative to the school blazer but a blazer must be worn if a pupil chooses not to wear the sweater.

 

Outdoor Clothing

 

Coats and jackets should be practical, inexpensive and large enough to wear over the blazer.  No leather or denim is allowed.  Expensive/designer jackets should not be brought to school.  Outdoor clothing which does not conform to the school dress code and which is worn in school must be handed in to the office.

 

Jewellery

 

The wearing of jewellery, except for a watch and one ear stud per ear, is not allowed.  Additional jewellery will be handed in to the office and returned on receipt of a note from parents.

 

For Physical Education, Lower School – Years 7 to 9

 

Boys: reversible blue/red games top, navy blue shorts, navy blue football socks, white t-shirt, short white socks, trainers, football boots and shin pads.

Girls: reversible navy blue/red games top, navy blue shorts, navy blue track suit bottoms, white aertex blouse/t shirt, white football socks, shin pads and trainers.  It is also strongly advised that girls have football boots for hockey and football lessons.

 

Consequences of Breaking the Dress Code – Information given to Pupils

 

Form Tutors will send you to your Head of Year if you have not produced a note from your parents.

Your Head of Year will give you a verbal warning.

If the problem persists, a detention will be given and your Head of Year will telephone home.

If the problem still persists, parents will be asked to come into school by your Head of Year.

In the case of jewellery, in addition to the above consequences, you may have your jewellery temporarily confiscated.

The use of mobile phones is not permitted in school.

 

All items of clothing and equipment must be marked with the owner’s name.  Pupils should not bring valuables in to school.  Money should not be left in bags and coats unattended.
