Huge congratulations to the boy and girl runners at this years' York and District Cross Country event held at the Kavesmire York. 18 local Secondary Schools took part with over 500 runners.
Team success must go to the YR 7's girls who finished 5th overall with a special mention for Eva Abbott and Scarlet Oldfield who came 4th and 11th respectively. The two girls have been given a special invitation to train with the York and District cross country team; we wish them well.
The Yr7 boys also did extremely well with Joshua coming in a sterling 26th, which is an amazing achievement looking at the standard of runners.
For the Yr 8's it is a little bit tougher as they are competing in the Juniors section, which includes Yr 9's, so a 33rd position in the race by Courtney Davies is something special.
It was for all a great afternoon. Mrs Hunt would like to thank Mrs Simpson and Mrs Abbott for their help and a big thank you to the organisers who are retired PE teachers who put on the event voluntarily.
